PipWires Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PipWires collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you visit our website, use our browser demo, request early access, purchase or license PipWires software, contact support, or otherwise interact with PipWires.
1. Who we are
PipWires is an independent software project that provides visual software tools for designing trading-strategy logic and generating platform-ready source code. PipWires is not a broker, investment adviser, trading-signal provider, exchange, financial institution, or custodian.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated when you use our website or software, and limited information received from service providers.
- Contact and account information: email address, name or display name if provided, support messages, early-access requests, and communications preferences.
- Purchase and license information: product purchased, license status, order identifiers, transaction metadata, refund status, and billing administration data received from our Merchant of Record or payment provider. PipWires does not intentionally collect or store full payment-card numbers.
- Technical information: IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, time zone, referring URL, page views, event logs, demo usage signals, diagnostics, error messages, and basic security logs.
- Software usage and licensing information: license activation status, app version, update checks, entitlement checks, crash or diagnostic reports if enabled or submitted, and compatibility details needed to operate or support the product.
- User-generated content: strategy diagrams, generated code, project files, screenshots, logs, or other files you choose to send to support. Unless a feature clearly says otherwise, PipWires desktop project files are intended to remain under your control on your device.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide, secure, improve, and support PipWires, including to operate website and demo features, process purchases and refunds, provide support, measure product interest, prevent abuse and fraud, send service notices, comply with law, enforce terms, and preserve legal rights.
4. Legal bases where required
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing PipWires, consent where required, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of rights and safety.
5. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
We may use cookies, session storage, local storage, server logs, and similar technologies for essential site operation, security, session continuity, abuse prevention, analytics, product diagnostics, and preference storage. Some analytics are designed to measure qualified website and demo visits without disrupting product functionality. You can control browser storage through your browser settings, but disabling storage may affect site or demo behavior.
6. Payments and Paddle
Paddle may act as Merchant of Record for PipWires purchases. Paddle handles payment processing, transaction taxes, receipts, billing administration, approved refunds, and chargebacks. Paddle processes payment and buyer information under its own terms and privacy policy. PipWires receives purchase and license-related information needed to fulfill orders, manage access, provide support, and maintain records.
7. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers and partners that help us operate PipWires, including hosting, email, analytics, security, database, payment, licensing, support, and legal/compliance providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce agreements, to prevent harm or fraud, as part of a business transfer, or with your direction or consent.
8. International processing
PipWires and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
9. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the product, maintaining licenses, complying with tax and accounting duties, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, supporting security, and preserving business records. Support materials you provide may be retained while a request is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so you should use strong passwords, keep your devices secure, and avoid sending sensitive payment-card details or passwords by email.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. You may also opt out of non-essential marketing communications. We may need to verify your request before acting on it, and some information may be retained where legally required or necessary for legitimate business purposes.
12. Children
PipWires is not intended for children under 13, or a higher age where local law requires. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to PipWires, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Trading and generated-code data
PipWires is a software-development tool. If you send trading strategies, generated source code, screenshots, project files, or logs to support, we will use them only to provide support, debug issues, improve the product, protect legal rights, and comply with obligations. Do not send live account credentials, broker passwords, complete payment details, or sensitive financial information.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, operational, legal, or commercial changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made. Continued use of PipWires after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy applies to your use going forward.
